LensFlare35 - Interview with Sports Photographer Mark Rebilas

LensFlare 35 is a weekly show brought to you by Dave Warner. In this week’s episode, Dave interviews Sports Photographer Mark Rebilas. Mark is the son of motor sports photographer Gil Rebilas. He was a US Navy photographer and led a team of 22 photographers as an editor/photographer on an aircraft carrier through a wartime deployment in 2004. After being honorably discharged in 2006 he moved back to his hometown in Arizona to begin a new career as a freelance sports photographer.

Mark is a regular contributor to ESPN the Magazine and US Presswire and his images regularly appear in Sports Illustrated, USA Today, the Los Angeles Times and many others. In this episode, Mark talks about how his dad stuck a camera in his hands at age 10, photography in the military, Daytona, NASCAR, NFL Football, equipment, the toughest sport to cover, how he gets his jobs, and much more.
