LensFlare35 - Interview with David Hume Kennerly, Photojournalist, Canon Explorer of Light and Pulitzer Prize Winner
LensFlare 35 is a weekly show brought to you by Dave Warner. In this week’s episode, Dave interviews Photojournalist, Canon Explorer of Light and Pulitzer Prize Winning Photographer David Hume Kennerly. David has been photographing history for more than four decades. He won the Pulitzer Prize for Feature Photography in 1972 for his remarkable photographs of the Vietnam War. David was also a contributing editor for Newsweek, and a contributing photographer for Time and Life magazines. He is a producer and one of the principle photographers of Barrack Obama: The Official Inaugural Guide, and continues to travel the globe to produce insightful images of important historic events.
In this episode, David talks about what it was like to receive the Pulitzer Prize while he was so young, the controversy over his latest image in Newsweek, what image that has had the MOST impact on him, what it is like to be part of the inner circle in Washington, an event that was emotional even for him, and tips for working your way up as a photojournalist.

I appreciate the new podcast, but why do you just post something in a stream that I did not subscribe to? I feel like something is forced on me… even though I think the show is great…

The show gets posted to the site, and then Wordpress sends the new post out to all who have subscribed to the RSS feed. So, ANY new post here would go out to you. If you never subscribed, then I’d go into the software you’re using and unsubscribe to the Photocastnetwork. Does that help?

I feel the same as the post above, I signed up to the Focus Ring not LensFlare35 which seems to be a completely different sort of show.
Are there going to be any further Focus Ring podcasts?

I agree with Nigel. All other Photocast network members have their own sites and podcast feeds. I have subscribed to the focus ring and don’t want to see any other podcast to appear in this stream.
If this is meant to replace the focus ring, I’m going to leave.

The concept of the site was for a large number of photography podcasters to be able to showcase their shows. Each one has the ability to put their show online, as I have. Karsten - I DO have my own website (www.lensflare35.com), and do not put all my shows here, just my main one. This is not a replacement for the Focus Ring, which has not happened since January, but an opportunity to give a lot more content to the members of this site. It’s an attempt to put some energy in things, and if I’m an active poster who gets things going again, you will be the beneficiary.

Ah I see where we’ve made a mistake here now. I’d forgotten that this feed is also the Focus Ring feed. Sorry to those of you who subscribed to the Focus Ring and are now getting other shows turning up in your feed. We’ll get it straightened out.
