Focus Ring - episode 9 - The Focus Ring saved my life
This week we have John Arnold, Ibarionex Perello, Jeff Curto and new Photocast Network member Rolf Steinort. We discuss grey market purchases, what to do when someone wants to use one of your photos, rediscovered photos and learning to slow down and see.

In response to Rolf’s topic on slowing down, Chris Orwig in a different podcast recommended going shooting with only one memory card that does not have much space; perhaps 512mb. That way you have to think about pressing the shutter because the amount of photographs you can take is far more limited than using a 2 or 4gb card.

Cool idea Sean, thanks for mentioning it. I’m actually a big fan of Chris Orwig. I didn’t know he was doing any podcasting. If you have a link for where I can find his show I’d be very greatful.

I think Sean is referencing the interview that The Digital Photography Show did with Chris Orwig in Episode #69.

Ibarionex was talking about a plastic 50mm lens and he said that is was super sharp but I didn’t get the name?

I think it’s the 50mm f/1.8 he’s talking about. Both Canon and Nikon make a 50mm f/1.8 lens and in both cases they’re EXTREMELY good value for money and produce great quality images.
